Biochemistry is the bridge between biology and chemistry; it is fundamental to all biological processes and is practised in a wide range of biological fields.

Biochemistry is relevant to everyone because it answers questions that are fundamental to every human life. Why are we alive? How long will I live? Why am I sick? What does it mean to be healthy? It is the essence of a liberal education that we seek to understand ourselves and our interactions with nature. So the Department of Biochemistry is working to grow a passion for research among students.

The 3-years Bachelor Degree and 2-years Masters Degree in Biochemistry equips students with the knowledge and enhanced practical skills in biochemistry and prepares them to work as a professional in the life-sciences industry, or to carry out further research in an academic environment.

Department of Biochemistry also has a well-knit team of teaching staff who rely on advanced teaching methodologies and learning aids to ensure students learn the subject in an interesting way. The faculty’s experience widens the scope for both clinical biochemistry and research. They constantly stay updated with the latest developments in the field by involving themselves in conferences and workshops.
